Viva Arts and Community Group is thrilled and proud to announce that our Founder, Dan Schumann, has been appointed as a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire.
The roles of Lord-Lieutenant and Deputies are voluntary, and the number of Deputy Lieutenants is in proportion to the population of the County and are drawn from different walks of life and from different parts of the County. Deputy Lieutenants are entitled to use the post-nominal “DL” after their name.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Mrs. Julie Spence OBE QPM, is assisted in her role by a number of Deputy Lieutenants, who have several duties including…receiving members of the Royal Family on a visit; commending to the Lord-Lieutenant candidates for invitation to a Royal Garden Party; helping to identify worthy and interesting places for potential Royal visits; commenting on any honours nominations at the Lord-Lieutenant’s request; encouraging and assessing nominations for The King’s Award for Voluntary Service when asked to do so by the Lord-Lieutenant; participating in Citizenship ceremonies when requested by the Lord-Lieutenant and visiting and supporting local community events and those working hard in their communities.
