Viva Youth Theatre has joined forces
with the National Trust to present a war-time adventure set in the grounds of
Anglesey Abbey.
'Myths And Models' tells the story of young evacuees, who are sent from London
to stay at the Abbey. Although the Abbey grounds are forbidden territory, the
youngsters are soon wandering around meeting mythical creatures and finding a
lot more excitement than they had bargained for. Viva are hoping to build on the
resounding success of last year’s production Jabberwocky, and the musical has a
cast of over 40 youngsters aged from eight to 18 years.
The show will be staged in the Abbey gardens on June 5, with gates opening at
5.00pm for a 6.00pm start. It can also be seen at the Arts Playroom Theatre,
Cambridge, on June 6 and 7.
All that is needed to enjoy the outdoor show are something to sit on, a picnic
and a coat in case it gets chilly.
The company’s artistic director, Dan Schunmann, said: “We are really looking
forward to performing at Angelsey and at the Arts Theatre, as they are two very
different venues.
“The show promises comedy, music, excitement and myths and magic.”
